James Seward was born in El paso, Texas. He rceived his Bachelor of Fine Arts from the Savannah College of Art and Design. He has exhibited in many galleries throughout the United States and was awarded the National Scholarship for Portraiture from the American Society of Portrait Artists. In 2005 James exhibited at the Cleveland Museum of Art's NEO Show and received an honorable mention from the director of the Museum, Katherine Lee Reid and nationally selected jurors. In 2006 his painting My Father In The Living Room Of Our 10th House was selected for the Boochever Portrait Competition at the Smithsonian National Portrait Gallery in Washington D.C. and received the People's Choice Award. James lives and works in DUMBO, Brooklyn. |
